Saturday 23rd April 9:30 to 12:00
Sunday 31st June 9:30 to 12:00 Saturday 24th September 9:30 to 12:00 Saturday 10th December 9:30 to 12:00 We now have a Sunday cleaning bee for those members that were finding it hard to get to the Saturday. Identification mark or number is needed on the base of your pots, a spot of wax on the mark will keep the glaze away and your work identifiable for the kiln fairies to charge your account.
Please make your pots with an adequate foot ring and waxed bottom to protect our new silicon carbide shelves. We are firing to cone 10 so check the firing range of the clay you are using. For example, BRT fires up to 1280 degrees so is not suitable as it will leave deposits of trachyte on the shelves. 15th Paul Pepworth is holding his Summer School Glaze Workshop in the Glazeroom so please, just for this day, if you are not attending the workshop would you please do any glazing you have before or after the 15th.
We have now opened this up to non members and places are filling fast so be in quick. If you are attending a workshop and are needing clay we would be grateful if you would purchase this the week before your workshop. These are a good opportunity for members to sell their work so bring it on down to the clubrooms. Please ensure you have labelled your work well and have filled in a registration form.
Jan 5th If you are helping on the day please park in the OPC carpark. If you have to park behind someone make sure you let them know. If you are just coming to have a “look see” please park outside the racecourse entrance gates on the grass. Jan 13th This is a busy busy day with Races, Rod’s summer school workshop and we Hamilton Tools selling their wares. If you are helping on the day please park in the OPC carpark. For all other members, if it is looking really busy and to avoid congestion, please park outside the racecourse entrance gates on the grass. Please add your name to the list on the board if you can help. Remember you are required to do one cleaning bee per year or pay the $45.
The tile competition is off to a great start with many of you busy creating your tile. Thank you, Brent, for organising and running this. It will be interesting to see the results. Please don't think you can only make a tile for the competition; we would love to see all members make a tile for the tile wall.
The competition closing date is now August 1 st however tiles will be accepted for the rest of that month for the wall. |
