Clay Creatures: Sculpting Small Animals
with Sarah Brock
In this 8-week class, you’ll create a series of small, expressive animal sculptures—about 10cm high —using pinch pots and basic modelling techniques. We’ll focus on capturing the essence of animals like cats, dogs, rabbits and foxes, bringing out their personality and character rather than worrying about intricate details.
This class is designed for anyone interested in exploring sculpture in a specific but creative way. No previous experience is needed—just a love for animals and a willingness to experiment. Through simple hand-building techniques, you’ll learn how to create forms that convey the movement and spirit of each animal, with plenty of room for imagination and fun. By the end of the course, you’ll have a collection of mini animal sculptures full of life and personality. This class is a great opportunity to work with clay, develop your own creative style, and enjoy the process of sculpting in a relaxed, supportive environment. Term 1, 2025 Fridays, 1pm - 3.30pm |
