Lisa Grennell
Lisa Grennell is a talented artist based in Nelson, New Zealand. Her artistic journey began in earnest in 2010, and she has since established herself as a notable figure in the local art scene. Lisa's work is deeply personal, often drawing inspiration from her own experiences as a mother and her observations of childhood.
Lisa's artwork is characterised by its focus on childhood nostalgia and innocence. She employs a distinctive technique of reverse hand-painting and silk screen printing on Perspex, using acrylic paint, glitter, and gold leaf to create dynamic and eye-catching compositions. Her pieces often feature floating subjects within frames, creating captivating shadows that bring the artwork to life as daylight plays across the surface.

Lisa has also used her talent to contribute to her community. In 2014, she created a mural for the children's ward at Nelson Hospital, designed to help grieving families. She has also participated in projects that pay tribute to lost children, demonstrating her ability to address sensitive themes with grace and empathy.
Lisa has participated in numerous exhibitions throughout her career. Notable shows include "Invoking Nostalgia" at the Suter Art Gallery (2022), "Childhood Memories" at Red Gallery (2019), and various group exhibitions at Parker Gallery.
