& Surface Decoration
Are you passionate about pottery and eager to develop your hand building and surface decoration skills?
Join our Continuing Hand Building & Surface Decoration class for Term 2, 2023. Throughout the term, we will focus on glazes and glazing techniques, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of different types of glazes and their properties, such as colours, textures, and firing temperatures. You will learn various techniques for using glazes on pottery, including:
By the end of the term, you will have created test pots and/or tiles for testing glazes for firing at different temperatures, and have tested and selected individual glazes for your own pottery work. |
You will also have gained hands-on experience in glazing and firing techniques, such as the Mishima technique and Kurinuki style pottery.
Our ongoing discussions with students throughout the term will inform the plan for next term, so you can continue to build on the skills and knowledge you have learned in this class.

Cost $300 per term includes clay & firing charges for non members.
