Pottery Classes
Otaki Pottery Club holds weekly adult pottery classes for 8 weeks during the school term and 6 weeks for the young people's class. There is also a school holiday programme for kids.
- You do not have to be a member of the club to participate in classes.
- The classes detailed below will be held at the Otaki Pottery Club rooms.
- There are 10 places in each wheel class and the figurative sculpture class. There are 12 places in the hand building classes.

The classrooms are closed when classes and workshops are in session.
Should you have a reason where you need to enter the classrooms during these times please contact the tutor directly.
2023 Pottery Classes
Term 4 2023
All classes start in the week beginning 16th October and finish in the week beginning December 4th except for D1 Beginners/Continuing Wheel class, D17 Beginners Hand Building class and D16 Intermediate/Advance Wheel. Please check with your tutor.

2024 Pottery Classes
Term 1 2024
Term 2 2024
Classes start in the week beginning 6th May and finish in the week beginning 24th June.
No classes will be held on the following public holidays and these classes will finish in the week beginning 1st July.
Term 3 2024
Classes start in the week beginning 29th July and finish in the week beginning 16th September.
Term 4 2024
All classes start in the week beginning 21st October and finish in the week beginning 9th December. No class will be held on the following public holiday and these classes will finish in the week beginning 16th December.
- All Classes start in the week beginning 5th February, except for Tuesday classes that start on the 13th February.
- All classes held on Wednesday and Thursday will finish in the week beginning 25th March.
- All classes held on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday will finish in the week beginning 1st April.

Fees and Discount Options
- Non Members' fees include the first bag of clay and firing costs for work produced from that clay in class. Additional clay may be purchased from the club but only work made in class may be fired without additional charge. Any work made outside the Otaki Pottery Club will only be fired by prior arrangement with the committee.
- Members' fees do not include clay and firing.
- OPC offer a 20% discount for Community Service Card (CSC) or a 10% discount to SuperGold Card (NZS) holders wishing to enrol in our classes. A photograph of the card needs to be forwarded by email to opc.classcoordinator@gmail.com. Please note these photographs are deleted once they have been sighted.
- Refunds for classes are at the discretion of the Otaki Pottery Club Committee.

If you have not been offered a spot in the class within that time, we kindly ask that you re-register if you are still interested. Our classes, timetables, and tutors can change each term, and re-applying will ensure that you have the most up-to-date information about the classes.
